Emotion in Space?
Hello again,
I’ve mentioned before that my novels are heavily invested in the emotions of my characters.
Why is that?
It’s because emotion is at the heart of motivation. If you can understand the motivation of a character, then you can understand why they do what they do.
Maybe you can’t predict it, but you can understand it, even if it’s something you would never do in your lifetime.
And that’s half the fun of stories, right? The characters are able to make choices that we never would. We get to go down that rabbit hole with them, experiencing all the faults and consequences that go along with those integral decisions.
Sometimes we see them coming. Others we don’t. But the fact that we understand the choice makes it real. It makes it human. And in the end, that’s what makes stories enthralling…isn’t it?
If you want to believe in the characters you’re reading about, even as the universe seems to implode around them, then this series is for you.
Cheers,
Eric
